  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to Heads of Department and the Nursing fraternity
  • Direct and control resources of Council to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist in strategic planning and direction of Council activities
  • Co-ordinate the process of registration of nurses and midwives
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to the professional standards of registration of nurses and midwives
  • Liaise with Ministry of Health and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure effective health service delivery
  • Supervise and appraise sub-ordinate staff
